'Appalling and Insulting': Donald Trump Demands Biden Apologize for Turning Easter into 'Trans Day of Visibility' and Banning Children's Expressions of Faith
Former President Donald Trump’s campaign called President Joe Biden’s declaration of Easter Sunday as “Transgender Day of Visibility” and prohibiting children from submitting egg designs with “overtly religious themes” to the White House Easter egg event as “appalling and insulting” and demanded he apologize.
“We call on Joe Biden’s failing campaign and White House to issue an apology to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America who believe tomorrow is for one celebration only — the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” Trump’s spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, told Breitbart News exclusively.
As I reported here, this is a deliberate two middle fingers to Christians, and it is unacceptable. Many Republicans leaders are expressing their displeasure via X, formerly known as Twitter, a variety of which are posted here, but this really should not be a partisan issue. Some things are beyond politics. Some things are about right, wrong, and respect. The President of the United States is supposed to be the president of everyone, and this decree and prohibition reveal his disdain for the people who hold their faith in high regard. His proclamation shows what this administration worships, and they don’t take a break from that worship on Easter Sunday.
Below is a portion of the proclamation. See the full proclamation here.
In his proclamation, Biden wrote, “Today, we send a message to all transgender Americans: You are loved. You are heard. You are understood. You belong. You are America, and my entire Administration and I have your back.”
The “message” he sent was to transgender Americans, as he said, yes—always pandering for more votes, and he needs as many as he can get, the polls reveal—but the larger message he intended to send—and did—was to Christians. But Trump sent a message, too, by calling on Biden to apologize. And he has always sent the clear message that he has Christians’ backs. He has spoken of his commitment to protect Christian liberties. Anyone paying attention sees the vast difference between these two. So what are we going to do about it in November?
