Since the DNC, I have paid more attention to the intricacies of each politician and their specifics on how they’ll handle the job.

Each one has pros and cons. Neither is the perfect candidate. The frustrating part of politics is the obscene amount of money used to get one elected. This summarily shuts out those who might actually have the acumen for best handling our country, its place and role in the world.

God has a plan. It might not be our plan but I trust in Him. This election is the first time in my 57+ years in which I feel ambivalent towards casting a vote. It was instilled in me that voting was a duty, a privilege hard fought for and to be honored.

This time around, it feels more like a choice of “the lesser of two evils” instead of a choice for the candidate I feel is best for the job. If I truly don’t have strong, positive feelings about either one, how do I cast a vote in support? In Illinois, it won’t matter anyway because Chicago wipes out the votes for the rest of the state. How Chicago goes, is how the state goes, and it’s gone democratic since Reagan, I think. Maybe Bush? Well, it’s pretty much a blue state. Which is fine when the candidate is one who instills confidence and hope.

I will always vote for whomever I believe is the best candidate, I do not vote for a party ticket. This election, it’s hard to believe either is “the best” candidate. I don’t believe voting for the candidate who will do the least harm is what elections were supposed to mean.

Praying God will guide me, our nation and the candidates spending so much money to get votes, when it could go to such better use.

I hear what you’re saying. For me, it’s rather simple. One candidate has a record, and despite “mean tweets” and a gruff, no-nonsense personality, he was quite a good president. His record speaks for itself, all of that while dealing with hoax after hoax with no repercussions for those who engaged in it. The country was much better off, no wars, better economy, a respect for the sanctity of life, prison reform, education reform, energy independence… I really could go on and on. The other ticket is an absolute disaster, with an VP candidate that is way over the top. And what has Harris done? No one who is “with her” has been able to answer the question I asked about her accomplishments. So this, to me, is one of the easiest decisions to make. I believe God is in control, but I also believe that the beauty of God is that we have the freedom to make wise decisions. He won’t make them for us. When folks in the Bible said they wanted a king to rule over them, God said, well, you asked. It didn’t turn out well, but he often gives us what we push for, and we live with the consequences. I believe, as you do, in voting according to principles, and I know you believe in prayer, so I trust He hears your heart and will lead you as you do your part. God bless you!

I made one following the debate. I may make another. I actually shared some thoughts on social media that evening, but I may have something to put on Substack today. We shall see.

I waited until Thurs to see the newly dubbed “Savior” accept the Democratic nomination. Wow! The bells! The whistles! The huge Pomp & Circumstance! The entire and utter failure of anything substantial!!

Honestly, I have a “true fear” for our country, for my family, friends and with how the world is going…for the World.

No matter how many times “fear” was spouted from the DNC, it brought me to focus on it, specifically. The result has me more concerned about Kamala Harris even has a Chance to become president.

I do Fear. For the entire World & its humanity, should that woman win.

Your vocabulary lesson was spot on. You missed only “liar” and “policy” (or lack thereof.)

I pray for everyone and that our country’s citizens, government and the politicians that are supposed to Lead us, for the future of the people they are sworn to protect.

God Bless America! 🇺🇸🇺🇸

I know where you're coming from. These "leaders" are concerning to say the least. We must not give in to fear but to believe, instead, that God is at work and people will wake up. We need Jesus for sure, and we need people to do their part. God, help us--literally! I'll stand in faith with you that He will! ❤️

It's so hard to express what I felt these past 3 days listening to the DNC, I forced myself but heartache, headache, stomachache along with not being able to fall asleep after all the lies that were spewed while so many uninformed people (young ones especially) were taking all in as it was presented. At times I had to mute or change the channel, it was too painful. I pray that President Trump will focus on issues, no name calling, it helps no one. Sad! Scary! But I know GOD is in control.

I believe God is in control. I believe the 2020 Election was stolen. When Trump became President we Christians got a breather, but Satan was at work the entire time Trump was President. When Trump ran 2020 we knew he would win the House and the Senate by a landslide. We could possibly get term limits finally. But we were leaving God out of the picture. We were depending on a man instead. It was a WAKE up call for us. God allowed the Election to be stolen. This is why I quit listening to politics today because it is full of lies. I will do my duty and vote this year. I will vote for Trump. But it is all up to God. But this time I will not depend on man this time. I will keep on growing spiritually and try bringing as many people to Christ as I can. It is going to get ugly as it get near to His Coming.

I have not watched one second of this Harris lovefest. I also considered watching KH "speak" but quickly decided against that. I've heard the debate with Trump is off and on another outlet I heard it's on.

Which is it?
