“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
This is the beginning and most oft-quoted part of the United States Constitution. It is loved by many and seemingly despised by others. I believe it is abundantly clear that those who call themselves patriots must defend all that it represents, which is all that America is. Our freedoms are being trampled on, and the most concerning part is there are those who would easily hand them over, who would comply with every overt and covert theft of our rights from our God and reiterated by our Constitution. It is obvious, too, that not everyone who takes an oath to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States" means it. Some mean it only to the point of convenience or party agenda. It seems that we the people may face a time when we will ourselves have to do what that oath dictates.
September 17, 1787, is the date of the signing of the Constitution. The next day, the last day of the Constitutional Convention, a woman reportedly asked Benjamin Franklin if we have a monarchy or a republic. His response: “A republic, if you can keep it.” And we are right there right now. The same condition is in effect today. It may actually resound louder now than it did then. While some so-called leaders function as if this is a monarchy and they are the monarch, that is not who we are. That is not why we fought to be free. What we have in America, this republic, is divinely inspired. But we cannot take for granted that it will remain. The Constitution was conceived, written, and signed, then entrusted to those to come. Our republic is unique, set apart, like no other place on the earth. There’s no question about that. The question is, “Can we keep it?”
For a look at the cost look what's happening to those being imprisoned for the events of 1/6. Look at what happens when you speak out against the narrative: cancelled, fired, harassed. It's on display what will happen to those who resist as opposed to those who are apart of the elite ruling class. I think too many of us will look at that and say, no thanks, and continue to give up their rights all for the greater good and their own security.
So true. We the People now put all our trust in the government instead of God. We the People allow the ruling class to dictate what freedoms we can keep, because as they take them away the logic is always, "It's for the greater good." We the People don't know American history or World history. Are there enough people who are willing to stand up and really fight for the freedoms given to us by God? Time will tell and I think that time will come in 2024.
