Weak Leaders like Mike Pence Calling for Trump to Bow Out Are as Dangerous as Biden's DOJ
I have no patience for the mindset of those whose advice to former President Donald Trump is to bow out of the race for 2024, including the sentiments expressed by his former right-hand man, Mike Pence, who has commented that Trump remaining in the race is a roadblock to focusing on what really matters. Men like Pence are as dangerous to the nation as President Biden and his weaponized Department of [in]Justice.
Among some tweets by Pence is one that says, “[but] with this indictment, his candidacy means more talk about January 6th and more distractions” and another tweet that states that Trump’s place in the race steers attention from where it should be: President Biden and his son, Hunter:
No one paying attention would deny that the Bidens need to be brought to justice for corruption or that the president’s policies have been detrimental to the country—no one who isn’t a partisan hack, that is, but conservatives had better learn to walk and chew gum at the same time. People like Pence ooze weakness, and that weakness is dangerous to the country because Democrats aren’t playing games, and the answer is not to bow to them, to cave, to step out of the way so we can get to more important matters. No, if we don’t have leadership willing to fight back now against our government agencies using their positions to go after the leading candidate for President of the United States, it will never stop. Enough of the “let’s just move the problem out of the way.” We’re past that now. Sometimes, you just have to stand and fight. Our country really does rely on it.
It is obvious that we have a two-tiered system of justice, and if we don’t resist, we will be like those nations that take out the opposition. Freedom and the will of the people will be a thing people tell their children existed sometime in the distant past. And anyone who doesn’t see that the time to fight is now does not deserve to even be considered for president—and that goes for Pence and anyone else who wants Trump to step aside. No, today it’s Trump, but if they win, if Trump backs down, if all of us don’t push forward, it’ll be a threat to our Republic from here until eternity.
Pence promises that as president, he will defend America, stating, “As your president, I will not yield an inch in defending America, our people, or our values, and I promise you: I will do so in a way consistent with my oath to the Constitution and the character and decency of the American people”:
He’s not even willing to defend America now—instead, throwing the former president under the bus when he is well aware that what is going on is election interference and a witch hunt. Yet we’re supposed to believe that he will grow a backbone in time to defend America and our values when he becomes president. This is the kind of milquetoast, tepid, weak leadership we cannot have, nor will we. There’s not a snowball’s chance in Hades that Pence will be the president of anywhere—well, maybe Ukraine.
Trump had every right as an American citizen to question the election results, especially in light of the known voting irregularities, to put it mildly. But Pence said:
Our country is more important than one man. Our constitution is more important than any one man’s career.
On January 6th, Former President Trump demanded that I choose between him and the Constitution. I chose the Constitution and I always will.
“One man” today, all of us tomorrow. Stand up and fight, people! Stop the madness. We cannot let them win. Surrendering here is the real threat to our Republic, so I say we go all the way because it will not stop otherwise.
The selfish accusation… makes me think that it comes from those who are themselves selfish. Their disdain for Trump or their own lust to lead gets in the way, and these indictments are their selfish opportunities to move past him. They want to boost themselves or the person they want in office. Some are worried that the legal battles will usher in four more years of Democrat rule.
Strength recognizes that you don’t give up because the enemy is nasty. You fight because if our enemy gets away with it now, we’ll never see the end of it. Remember those days on the playground or at school? You let a bully chase you home once, he’ll do it time and time again, which is exactly why, at some point, many of our parents said to us, “No more running. Turn, face your enemy, and fight back.” Some people call Trump a bully, to which he would, of course, say, “Nope, just a counter-puncher.” Pence prefers what he calls “decency” and “civility” right now. Let me translate: weakness and more weakness.
This Biden administration has no intention of backing up, and they’re not even hiding it. The timeline shows that whenever something comes up regarding Biden corruption, Trump gets indicted the next day. But the answer is not to step aside and let them win. Trump understands that, and, thankfully, the American people seem to understand that also because after these attacks come, his poll numbers increase. People see right through the mess, and we don’t like it. This injustice has turned even some who would not typically be in the Trump camp to his side because folks don’t like the obvious attempts to take out an American candidate. As I have repeatedly said, I believe these actions will backfire. We the people get it. It’s weak people like former Vice President Mike Pence who do not.
