A Trump Apology to Kayleigh McEnany Is the Right Move, Morally and Politically

Kayleigh McEnany is the latest to taste the ire of former President Donald Trump and have a nickname conferred upon her. His former press secretary, who was without question stellar at her job and by all accounts the epitome of loyalty, is now “Kayleigh ‘Milktoast’ McEnany.” I assume he meant “milquetoast,” but it seems like a heavy insult to be hit with for getting a poll wrong on Tuesday, and Trump has taken some heat for it. He could—and should—make it right, though.

Let’s take a look at what he posted on Truth Social, which is where he went to mercilessly attack McEnany:

One would think that she had given Gov. Ron DeSantis her endorsement or said Trump didn’t have what it takes to win or something more substantial than, according to Trump, getting a poll wrong. So what exactly did she say, and did it deserve a public attack? Here is her Fox News comment:
