Video Tribute to Penny King: 'A Woman Who Fears the Lord, She Shall Be Praised'
Penny Gail King (July 31, 1963 - March 19, 2024) left this life much too soon, it seems. The calendar agrees she was far too young. Most importantly, her family and friends say the same. She did not leave, however, without depositing into the lives of those around her. Nothing anyone could say could do justice to the value of her life or fully express the hole that has been left with her passing. But I’m honored to share a video, the purpose of which is to hear from just a few people doing their best to put into words the impact she had and to share their hearts with those who loved her most—her family, especially her husband, daughters, grandchildren, mother, and sister—so they will know how special she was to them and how she made a difference in their lives.
As I digested the words people spoke about my friend and sister Penny, I couldn’t help but think this sobering thought: I want to live in such a way as Penny did: selflessly serving, praying for people, persevering through trials, and, ultimately, leaving an imprint on the world—all because of God’s love.
We want her here, but a great consolation is knowing she’s in the presence of the God she feared (reverenced, worshiped, honored, obeyed, and delighted in), and those who know the Lord Jesus will see her again.
To Penny’s family: be blessed by these stories, these memories, these testimonials from those your Penny touched as only she could.
Proverbs 31:30 (NKJV):
Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
