Reactions to Charlie Kirk's Assassination Demonstrate Ignorance Is Not Bliss, but Seeking Truth Brings Light
“Ignorance is bliss” is a popular saying, but is it an accurate one? As I behold the reactions to the assassination of Charlie Kirk, I have to say it is not.
Immediately upon news that Charlie had been shot, likely before he was even announced deceased, people began to malign him, use partial quotes to define him, and demand others denounce him. Some either outright stated or implied that he got what he had coming, simply for being bold in his faith. He was called a racist, sexist, white supremacist, and homophobe.
The more extreme individuals cheered on his death, at least one reenacted it, but many mourned it. Many are still mourning—mourning a man, 31, murdered in cold bold, reportedly in the presence of his wife and children…the trauma the world experienced from watching the fatal blow in real time or later online.
