Today is Presidents’ Day, as it is now called. For the purists, of course, it’s all about George Washington. However you choose to look at it, I’m curious: who is your favorite president—during your lifetime or from history?
If your favorite is not one of the choices in the poll below, tell your favorite in the comments. And if your favorite is listed, feel free to use the comments to state why he’s at the top of your list.

Richard Nixon is my favorite. I was in middle school living in Maryland and followed his presidency. I still have clippings from when he took his historic trip to China. I've read many books by him and about him. He was a odd but intelligent, man which is probably why I related well with him.
I’m so surprised you didn’t have President Reagan on here. He’s my favorite. He was a good communicator with common sense and he worked well across the isle. Although I was pretty small when he was President, history shows us how well he did.
