'It Only Took One': Lives Resurrected Today on Resurrection Sunday [Easter]
It’s a joy to celebrate our risen Savior every day, but there’s something special about joining with others on Resurrection Sunday, also known as Easter. It’s even more special when people give their lives to the Lord, as we witnessed at church today.
Pastor Zack Strong’s topic was “It Only Took One.” He started by giving numerous examples of people who invented things that changed the world as they knew it—from the invention of the windshield wiper blade to the dishwasher to the automobile and more. It took one person to make an impact that each of us still benefits from. Well, Jesus is the ultimate example of how one person can make all the difference in the world. He is the One Who gave His all for all of us. One man’s life, one’s man death, and one man’s resurrection revolutionized the entire world.
Many people came to the altar to receive prayer and some to give their lives to Jesus today. So now, they, too, have been resurrected! We ended our time together with two college students getting baptized—on Easter! I love it! As the Bible says, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4).
If you haven’t given your life to Christ, as many did today, this is your day. Acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior; confess Him with your mouth; believe in your heart that God did, indeed, raise Him from the dead; ask Him to forgive you of your sins; and begin your walk with Him by joining with fellow Christians who believe the Bible is the Word of God. As you walk out your faith, as you continue with the Lord, you will grow in the Lord.
God is good! Let’s continue to celebrate Him very day!
