A Mother Cannot Be a Father

This is probably going to rub some people the wrong way, but please note that my motives are right, and, as always, what I speak is what I believe to be true. Often on Father’s Day, we read social media posts from well-meaning people who want to honor the woman who raised them or is raising them as a single individual: “Thank you, Mom, for being both a mother and a father to me and my siblings,” they’ll write. The truth is some women are absolutely what people would call “one helluva mother!” By the grace of God, that’s the best they can be, but they cannot be fathers.
