It Didn't Have to Come Down to This for Joe Biden
It cannot be easy for someone who has been in politics for most of his life and has always wanted to be president to open his hand and release it. It has to hurt to realize, if he does, that his age has caught up with him, and it must hurt even worse to have the people he considers his “peeps” pushing him out the door. But President Biden, or whoever is guiding his decisions, absolutely needs to end his campaign for reelection. Rumors say he will. We shall see.
Sadly, Democrats want him out because the polls suggest he cannot defeat former President Donald Trump. I say “sadly” because it’s unfortunate that not everyone wants him out first and foremost because it’s obvious that he’s not in the state physically or cognitively to serve. No doubt, many knew that already, tried to hide it, and then gaslit the American people who saw it. When it could no longer be denied and polling showed chances of winning had waned, then they put on the pressure. Names no one would expect—in his political camp, in his media camp, and in his entertainment camp—threw him under the bus.
Meanwhile, someone like me, not even a Biden supporter—or Democrat, for that matter—has spoken up for a long time, calling out the elder abuse by those who have him out there, catering to his own ambition or their own.
The juxtaposition of his weak week and the strength that Trump’s week exuded, which was on the heels of nearly being shot in the head—but for the grace of God—couldn’t be more stark. While Biden quarantined because of a reported “COVID” diagnosis, Trump let doctors patch up his bullet-pierced ear, boarded a plane, and sat through days of festivities and speeches at the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
