President Biden Begging for the Nation's Hand in [Re]Marriage Isn't Good
This ain’t good. When a president is answering questions or commenting about his age, cognition, and ability to do the job, well, it’s just not good.
The commander in chief is supposed to command more than the military. He’s supposed to command the respect of the people—the world, really. He’s supposed to evoke a sense of security. We may not like each president, but, my goodness, we’re supposed to believe he’s large and in charge. And every world leader is supposed to have a healthy fear of him. That’s not what the U.S. is experiencing now.
Instead, Americans are scoping out President Biden, looking for signs of further decline. We’re all over every stutter and slur and stoppage in the middle of a sentence trying to remember a word or phrase. And believe me, if we’re keeping our eyes heavily on him, so is every other nation. I’ll say it again. This is not good.
Since the disastrous debate against former President Trump, when the last holdouts could no longer deny his state, Biden has gone on an explanation tour, begging us to believe that not only can he finish the job, but that he can do it all over again—another four years. His staunchest supporters are not buying it, and that includes the media, Democrat operatives, donors, entertainers, and, of course, voters.
We’re in control, and the president knows it. So like a young man awkwardly trying to show his girlfriend’s father that he is up to the task of marrying his daughter—shaking, quaking, hoping for no misstepping— the president is doing the same. He’s doing all but getting down on one knee before we the people. It’s sad. The president has done interviews, held a press conference, even released a two-page letter to beg for our hand in marriage. It’s pathetic, to be honest, and it should not be. If you’re the president, the leader of the free world, and the people in your own country have to be convinced not just that your policies are sound but that your mind is also, you’ve already lost.
Make it stop.
