Too many Americans are “led by the nose as asses are, with few objections,” to use a phrase from To Kill a Mockingbird. The book is referring to witnesses in a court of law. I’m referring to people who blindly follow politicians no matter where they’re being taken—some barely objecting and some actually defending whatever is presented.
